Chocolate gravy over biscuits

A southern tradition, biscuits and gravy, usually white gravy with sausage bits, but for a delicious festive twist , chocolate gravy over biscuits or pancakes. Try it and let me know if your family enjoyed it!

Southern Chocolate Gravy

3/4 to 1 cup - granulated sugar (if you want it less sweet use 3/4 cup)
2 - 3 tablespoons flour
1 - heaping tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/4 - cups milk
1 - tablespoon butter or margarine
1/2 - teaspoon vanilla extract

Add all the dry ingredients to a medium sized pot. Add the milk, using a whisk combine the dry ingredients with the milk. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and stir constantly to prevent the mixture from scorching.

The mixture will start thicken up. When it thickens remove from heat and add the butter and the vanilla extract. Pour over biscuits.

* If by chance your gravy is not at the consistency that you want. You can mix a bit of flour and milk together and add it to the boiling chocolate to thicken as much as you like. Some people like their chocolate gravy a bit thin and some a bit thicker. I think it will be just right if you use the about 3 tablespoons flour.

Stunning chandelier decorating ideas

Chandeliers not only provide light in any room in the house they also provide a romantic feel to a room. there are many types of chandeliers but my favorites are still crystal chandeliers.  Crystal Chandeliers adds an air of elegance to a room, a bedroom, bathroom, nursery, kitchen. They provide a dramatic focal point to most decor as well.

Where would you put a crystal chandelier?  Do you feel they bring an air of romance to a room? Comments welcomed.

Emerald Coast Florida

My new BBF (BestBlogFriend)

I am a land locked person who loves everything beach, ocean, seashells etc. I lived near the Pacific ocean at one time and found I was most at peace when I heard the beautiful sounds of the ocean waves. It renewed my spirit.  Needless to say I seek out blogs that feature all things Coastal, Ocean, Beachy.
I am with permission featuring some photo's that touched me from few blogs. In the future I plan to feature Coastal home decor.

I love ocean theme books, magazines, movies , I won't be able to vacation in the Emerald coast in Florida this year, I so crave being on a beach.   Is your dream vacations a beach vacation? Do you live in a coastal town, please share with a kindred spirit.

Romantic shabby chic decor

I absolutely love romantic shabby chic home decor.  Besides lace, pearls and crystals color is important. All White, Pale blues and Pinks are the most popular colors in a romantic home.

Cindy of MyRomanticHome.com brought it all together.
One of the prettiest of romantic homes is Cindy's in California, recently she boasted of 3 million visitors to her blog.

Crystal chandeliers in bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens and dining areas is a focal point in most romantic homes...
This one is STUNNING! And the price is right $88.00

My Aunt had beautiful crystal chandeliers in her home which as a little girl I admired. I thought it would be extremely costly to decorate a home in shabby chic only to be delightfully surprised at some of the affordable ways to get the look!
Beautiful Romantic bedroom

From bedrooms to bathrooms and shades getting the romantic home may be easier than I first thought. It's those special touches, lace, flowers, pearls and crystal. There are beautiful floral fabrics that can be used as curtains or tablecloths. Floral wallpapers. Just let your creative juices flow and go for it.
