Building Blocks Cake

Thanks to BettyCrocker for this easy to make cake

Building a birthday cake is fun and easy thanks to cake mix, ready-to-spread frosting
and marshmallows. How cute and easy is this? Watch the instructional video.
They also explained "crumb coating".  I liked the tip on cutting marshmallows,
(yes the secret is out, the building blocks are marshmallows)

Have a fun building blocks Party!!

Tutorial Candle in a Bottle

Candle in a bottle tutorial HERE

Simple idea yet so creative, unique and pretty. Great idea for a Valentines day gift. Or really a anytime little love gift. Who doesn't like candles? I like that any shape you choose  besides a heart can be cut out.

Country Burlap flower bouquet

Tutorial can be found here:

http://www.labellebride.com/2012/01/18/how-to-make-a-burlap-flower-bouquet/

I hear burlap anything is big this year. I have seen many different wreaths made with burlap flowers, plus bouquets, centerpieces and one of my favorites is burlap roses on toss pillows.

I found tutorials on how to make the flowers and found this one the easiest.  What will you make with burlap? Please feel free to add your comments. We love comments!

What to do with used dryer sheets

Can you believe that beautiful lantern was made from used dryer sheets?  Blogging ladies are sooo creative! I can see this beautiful idea as a mobile or a lantern.  Myric from PetitesPassion blog was kind enough to give a very detailed tutorial.  She did mention concerns about using this as a lantern, as a potential fire hazard, her husband didn't seem to think it would be but caveat..

Recently I learned how to use coffee filters to make a wreath, (can used coffee filters work?)

Word of the year 2012 - Blessings

Thanks to Layla at TheLetteredCottage for her "Word of the year" linky party for inspiring me to think of one word I would wish or want to happen in 2012.

"

Basically, you choose one word that has the potential to inspire you and create intention in your life, all year long."

Many words came to mind, Believe, Encourage, Love, but ultimately the one word I chose is

Blessings, because of health challenges, and the pain I have endured this past year I pray daily that God Bless me with good health and take all pain away. I pray The Lord bless my family with health, happiness, joy.

The definition of blessing is:

bless·ing

  [bles-ing]

noun

1.

the act or words of a person who blesses.

2.

a special favor, mercy, or benefit: the blessings of liberty.

3.

a favor or gift bestowed by God, thereby bringing happiness.

4.

the invoking of God's favor upon a person: The son was deniedhis father's blessing.

5.

praise; devotion; worship, especially grace said before ameal: The children took turns reciting the blessing.

Be Blessed!
